    Hello, again. This week we looked at how ELA tech standards and search tactics can affect the classroom. The standard I'm focusing on is for 8th graders and evaluating different mediums they use in and out of class. This is a crucial standard because, for many 8th graders, this is the time to question authority. Showing our students the pros and cons of books, articles and more. I am especially interested in this standard because I feel the most suited to lead. I am constantly using resources such as technology or analysis papers on sheet music I play. I would definitely be more technologically advanced than some of my peers. 

    We also examined some tools from the CPALMS Educator Toolkit and the game staff wars really caught my eye. The premise of the game is identifying notes on a SmartBoard in a way that keeps students engaged. Depending on factors within the class, it could even be a classroom competition on the days we are not playing our instruments.

    Finally, we looked at some in depth search methods. It is important for. teachers to be able to sort through the internet properly. If you're going to educate the next generation, you should give them good, accurate, and reviewed information. It sets a good example. I'm sure I will be doing searches for sheet music, so it was nice to see the subtract searches. If there was a need for a certain genre of music and I wanted to search for it minus a certain producer, I now can.

      This semester's class was in person (w/ flex for circumstances). I liked this about the class. As we are growing into adults, things come up and situations call for quick changes of plans. The only thing I would work on in my own classroom would be student  engagement, which is much easier said than done.      In searching for open educational resources (OER), I stumbled upon this website . It is a collection of OER links for music educators. It includes textbooks, other libraries, scores/sheet music and even course videos. For beginner music educators, this would be a very key resource to have.     We did a project that required us to use PowerPoint to create a slide show and inform our audience on a topic. Blog Post 6

    Wow, we've already done six of these. Diigo was the recent addition to our tech class which I like and I don't like. The pros of it of course would be the swift collaboration. It is very user friendly for sharing information between people. I don't like some of features, such as the need to download an extension, however, other than that it is very nice.     This is the sixth blog post and honestly I don't mind it. Usually, I just talk to myself, so it's nice to have a venting space regarding my school work. The constant reflection helps to keep me present and it is a nice way to see how things have been progressing on a weekly basis. I don't see myself doing it outside of this class, however.     Finally, we have been talking more about Web 2.0 (the current web) and the implementation of tools from it.     Teacher websites are a great way for students and parents to get a feel for who will be their teachers. Most pages will have sections that tell you about the teacher as person and there  may even be photos. They will list their subject, daily tasks, calendar or even educational resources they may use. It isn't required at all schools but it is a good idea for every teacher to have a page.      I plan to be a music teacher (if I am teaching) so there won't be very much teacher tech. There is only so much you can get from between screen when it comes to music and growing students. I do, however, see myself utilizing a Kahoot or two to make sure students are retaining. This keeps the class light and playful during situations that call for it.     Wiki platforms are interesting.
