    Teacher websites are a great way for students and parents to get a feel for who will be their teachers. Most pages will have sections that tell you about the teacher as person and there  may even be photos. They will list their subject, daily tasks, calendar or even educational resources they may use. It isn't required at all schools but it is a good idea for every teacher to have a page.      I plan to be a music teacher (if I am teaching) so there won't be very much teacher tech. There is only so much you can get from between screen when it comes to music and growing students. I do, however, see myself utilizing a Kahoot or two to make sure students are retaining.     Wow, we've already done six of these. Diigo was the recent addition to our tech class which I like and I don't like. The pros of it of course would be the swift collaboration. It is very user friendly for sharing information between people. I don't like some of features, such as the need to download an extension, however, other than that it is very nice.     This is the sixth blog post and honestly I don't mind it. Usually, I just talk to myself, so it's nice to have a venting space regarding my school work. The constant reflection helps to keep me present and it is a nice way to see how things have been progressing on a weekly basis.       In class, we've created Twitter accounts for the purpose of connecting with others that have similar  interests in education. I, personally, am not a huge fan of twitter as a network as it does on show portions of the world's full picture (this is often forgotten). I've mainly used Twitter as a networking platform for larger organizations within the education field such as TCEA in Dallas. In the future, I could see it as a way of keeping updates on myself and my career for those to see, as well as a small look into my personality.     As I mentioned earlier, platforms such as Twitter only show a portion of the picture due to the Digital Divide.      Hello, again. This week we looked at how ELA tech standards and search tactics can affect the classroom. The standard I'm focusing on is for 8th graders and evaluating different mediums they use in and out of class. This is a crucial standard because, for many 8th graders, this is the time to question authority. Showing our students the pros and cons of books, articles and more. I am especially interested in this standard because I feel the most suited to lead. I am constantly using resources such as technology or analysis papers on sheet music I play. I would definitely be more technologically advanced than some of my peers.      We also examined some tools from the CPALMS Educator Toolkit and the game staff wars really caught my eye.       Copyright and fair use can be sticky subjects, especially as the world continues to develop technologically. Copyrights can be described as licensed ownership of a physical product. While many associate copyrights to property and last minute college essays, it actual branches into several fields. One large industry that constantly deals in copyrights is the music industry. They deal in copyrights with, not only music, but apparel as well. Fair use deals with the specifics of copyrights. Works that are registered under fair use are copyrights that allow for people to use that work without asking for permission first. For example, a teacher using outside resources for a middle class is considered fair use. It is educational and any problems later on will be handled in court. To avoid dealing with copyright, it is always recommended to double check your materials as a student and as a teacher. As always, creating your own original work is the best defense.   ...

I have also used google docs in the past. If I had to pick between the two of them, I would choose google docs simply based on personal convenience. I have a gmail account and I am slightly more familiar with the details of it in comparison to MS Word.     The ISTE standard 2.1 is the most important in my opinion. It's great if you can go about the steps of being a teacher, but  actively learning is vital. For teachers, this is not  only in regards to the material.  My name is Tyler Parker. I'm in my last semester (hopefully) at FSU for commercial music. I came to FSU originally to study education, but things changed. Not necessarily in a bad way, I just wanted something else. This will be my second time taking an education course. My first time was in high school for college credit and we did a lot of presentations. We also used technology to speak with a class in Europe that were mirroring our course schedule. I enjoyed it then. I've learned a lot from experiencing things first hand and that is, typically, my first source. I learn things better by analyzing my mistakes. YouTube has also been a great source for almost anything that I can't afford to make mistakes on and many of my friends are better than me in my fields so I can learn a lot from them as well. I try to learn on my own, however.
